Hello Ed. Just wondered if you will soon be posting the Sinaloa Park project plans at Sinaloa Golf Course like we have talked about numerous times. At the April 28th meeting we had together, which was now over 60 days ago, you said you would be willing to display the project plans and give comment-survey cards out to the existing clientelle to gather their input & opinion. To date nothing has been done. The secret is being very well kept from the existing regulation golfers at Sinaloa Golf Course for some reason. Not sure why, but it is very obvious.
As I had mentioned at the April 28th meeting, if you are unable to gather opinion from the current golfing clientele, that I would be happy to help. Please explain to me if there is a formal permit process that must be followed for me and other Concerned Citizens of Simi Valley to obtain "on-site" what we feel is very valuable input & information from the existing Sinaloa Golf Course Patrons.
I look forward to your written response in a timely manner.
Sincerely,
Joe Schmidt

Hi, Joe:
Thank you for your input. Information on the proposed Sinaloa Park will soon be made available at both Sinaloa Golf Course and Simi Hills Golf Course. In addition, all Park District residents located in the Simi Valley area will soon be provided information on the Sinaloa Park project through the mail. The Park District is confident that all citizens will be able to weigh in on the project prior to the public hearings.
Thanks again,
Robin Walker

Thanks for the update Robin. When you say "soon" I take that to mean within 30 days ( 7-30-09 ). I will be monitoring Sinaloa Golf Course personally, so please be sure to keep me aware of any further delays.
Thanks again !

Park Project

I attended the park district meeting on Oct. 4, 2007 @ the Park District and am so shocked at you and the park officials decision to continue on this concept of a waterpark with arcade hangout in the middle of residential homes. On the 215 freeway just south of the 10 is a waterpark "with tubes" and a miniature golf course. It is set on a major interstate freeway with a "mile long" RV sales establishment on the other side of the freeway. Same thing with
Magic
Mountain,
Hurricane
Harbor. These types of establishments are set on Interstate Freeways for a reason, to generate interest and revenue from outside sources. This does not belong at
Irvine and Madera Rd. You and your Board are creating a Nightmare for our City. You are elected officials correct? Where are your Family Values? Would you put this project in Wood Ranch at the
Windmill
Park to create revenue? I doubt it. The homeowners would be screaming it doesn't belong there. Well, the homeowners are screaming here also. This is the wrong project in the wrong place and the people that you are suppose to be representing are very unhappy with your choices. Of all the people that we have talked to, not one thought this was a good use of our resources. That's a lot of votes.

You have been clear about your opposition to
Sinaloa
Park and have provided your reasons. As an agency with community wide influence, we receive opposition from time to time, and in each case, we evaluate the merits of the opposition. We believe that is the right thing to do. We also believe that is what we are doing now. Thank you for your comments; I will print your e-mail for our reference….Larry
