Please do not let this happen. My son loves riding and loves the Sycamore BMX track. It is truly his favorite sport and it is a fun, safe, family sport. Our whole family loves watching him ride and race. It would be a great loss to Simi Valley and to our children. Please do not let this happen!

I have lived directly across from the bmx track for 14 years and I was absolutely shocked to hear the city would even consider selling the land. Hasn't this city sold enough of our open spaces to developers? What benefit could an arcade add to the residents of Simi? Why would you replace an activity that promotes health, exercise and the spirit of competition with an activity that promotes none of these values? Just another case of our city managers mismanaging our city for someone elses gains... definetly not the resident's.

My Wife and I and our six children have ridden or raced at this track for many years. Joan and Tony have established this facility geared towards families. I cannot believe the City of Simi Valley would even consider this with out building another facility first in the town that promotes "Family" maybe our city officials need to be looked at more closely. When are we as a community going to say enough is enough!

It is amazing to me that officials are even able to consider selling off a quiet family oriented BMX track so that it can fund a potential nightmare on the other side of town. We have not lived in Simi very long, but we have found the BMX track to be a terrific and safe place for our son to get exercise and learn about competition. On the other hand, a video arcade, mini golf, concessions and alcohol being served too????- sounds like a recipe for big problems. Those problems don't occur at the Sycamore BMX track. BMX is now an olympic sport as well- Please do not kill this track and many kids dreams and ambitions at the same time!! We strongly Oppose this proposition!!!

I think sports of any kind keeps kids away from the dangers of drugs. The more time practicing and playing in a clean, supervised enviroment is less time hanging out with kids that can lead to Criminal behavior. By taking away this bike park I think you leave the door open for a degenerate path of our youth. The saying goes "the devil will find work for idle hands to use". I wouldn't want that to happen to our youth. Please reconsider and keep the BMX track open.

The BMX track must remain. It is irresponsible for local government to replace an outdoor recreation facility that promotes physical fitness and cardiovascular exercise with development that includes a 4300 square foot video arcade. Wake Up! The obesity epidemic continues to rise with California having an adult prevalence of 20-24% obesity, and where one in three children and one in four teens are overweight or at risk. Obesity results in many health problems including diabetes whereas 20.8 million Americans are diabetic and 41 million are pre-diabetic and more and more people are beginning to suffer from â??double diabetesâ? (both type 1 and type 2). Diabetes can lead to kidney failure, coronary heart disease, limb amputation, vision loss, depression and more. Taking away this facility is counterintuitive, would replace physical activity with less healthful forms of recreation and would be a contributing factor to the problem of poor health and increased healthcare costs. Choose to be part of the solution by keeping the BMX track and promoting good health for the Simi Valley community.

This is downright pathetic, BMX is every bit as valid a sport as Soccer or baseball. Simi Valley has plenty of Soccer/baseball fields - take a couple of them and leave the BMX track!

What a shame it would be to lose the Sycamore BMX Track. We enjoyed many a summer nights t the track as a family. The track is "famous" in the circles we chose to find our friend in. The track, staff and the people who use the track all have had such a positive influence on my kids and the friends we have taken there. Simi does not need any more houses !!!

I would be very sad to see the track closed as a result of a property sale. I have been riding there off and on over the past 13 years.

Wow what a shame if this is allowed to happen.....Bmx is a great family sport. I'm sure if the people in charge of this project where to come to racetrack and see the look in the faces of some of those little kids. when they win a race of just get to complete their first lap,I'm sure they would reconsider. Money is not everything, the spirit and family values bmx instills is just amazing....I hope this does not pass.....
