Sinaloa Golf Course 980 Madera Rd, Simi,CA
April 7, 2008 NEIGHBORING RESIDENTS will be getting a letter very soon advising that the studies (traffic, noise, hydralic studies, etc.) are ongoing.
Additionally, R.S.R.P.D. is making good progress on the Business Plan for the project (hours, staffing, financial proforma, marketing, etc.). Currently it is approximately 60-70% complete . . . when finalized the traffic and noise consultants will review and make appropriate changes based upon number of users, hours, etc.

We have established positive "open communication" with Mr. Ed Hayduk, Assistant G.M., R.S.R.P.D. who has agreed to meet with us and discuss concerns / suggestions / ideas relating to the Sinaloa Park Project. Attending the Park Board meetings can and should be minimized since it is believed we can be much more efficient and effective working directly with Mr. Hayduk in our continued effort to bring the "best project possible" to the currently planned Sinaloa Golf Course Expansion
Your comments, suggestions, concerns, requests and ideas are welcomed so that we can present them to Mr. Hayduk and the Rancho Simi Recreation & Park District during future scheduled meetings and project discussions.
Please email JOE@SinaloaPark.info with your valued input !!!!!!!
YOUR INPUT IS IMPORTANT !

THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS WEBSITE:
In an effort to improve communication & better inform all the Citizens of Simi Valley, this website was started by concerned fellow Citizens in hopes of creating a public forum to review conceptual plans and offer personal & group input, as well as voice concerns, issues and objections regarding the currently proposed Sinaloa Park redevelopment project.
THE PROPOSED PROJECT LOCATION:
Sinaloa Golf Course – The Rancho Simi Parks & Recreation District
plans to redevelop the existing Sinaloa Golf Course and adjacent
property located at 980 Madera Road, Simi Valley, CA. 93065.
The 38-acre project involves removing the driving range from
he existing 25+acre golf course on Madera Road and developing
the additional 13+ acres that are now vacant to the south.

Sinaloa Park Revised Project Description:
Golf Course: The existing 18.9-acre, 9-hole pitch-and-putt golf course will remain, but the driving range will be eliminated. The golf course will be slightly modified with the reconfiguration of holes number one, two and nine. All other holes will remain the same.
Golf Teaching Area: A new .62-acre golf teaching area will be added near the 9-hole pitch-and-putt golf course. The teaching area will include a practice putting green, pitching area, and sand trap area.
Miniature Golf Courses: Includes three 18-hole miniature golf courses featuring a natural environment of cascading water falls and a themed, varied landscape. Five reservable picnic shelters suitable for group events and parties are located within the confines of the 2.4-acre miniature golf course area.
Community Room: The community room is an approximately 4,850 s.f. facility which can be used for meetings, parties, wedding receptions, and other occasions. It has its own parking lot to allow a separation of this facility’s vehicle and foot traffic from other park amenities. The building includes a 2,900 s.f. multipurpose room, a 460 s.f. kitchen, restrooms, storage and delivery areas, and an equipment room. Its 2,000 s.f. outdoor patio overlooks the lake and golf course.
Clubhouse Building: The 4,950 s.f. clubhouse will house the park’s administrative offices, pro shop, restrooms, food concession kitchen and dining areas. The building will include outdoor admissions and food concessions windows, and will feature an 800 s.f. outdoor dining area/sitting area which overlooks the lake and golf course.
Freestanding Restrooms: A freestanding restroom facility is provided at the entrance of the passive park area for the convenience of park patrons utilizing the picnic facilities and open turf, playground, and children’s splashpad areas.
Reservable Picnic Shelters: Two 900 s.f. reservable picnic shelters will each seat approximately 75 people. Amenities for each shelter will include a barbecue, outdoor sink, serving and prep tables, and electrical outlets.
Plaza and Seasonal Ice Rink: A 55,000 s.f. plaza provides a pedestrian linkage between the park’s amenities, and contains a fountain that serves as the central focal point for the pedestrian entry and waiting area. A 500 s.f. seasonal ice rink will be placed over a portion of the lake near the plaza entrance during the holiday season.
Walking Paths: Walking paths featuring bridges and views of the golf course, lake and miniature golf areas provide convenient access throughout the park.
Passive Water Features: Waterfalls, brooks and streams weave between and around areas of the miniature golf course and flow into two prominent lake features. The community room and clubhouse overlook one lake, and the other is located in the passive park area.
Passive Park Area: The 3-plus acre passive park features a playground with rubberized surfacing, children’s splashpad, sand volleyball court, shade trees and an open turf area. It is bordered by the meandering walking path. The playground will include tot and preteen play equipment and swings, and will be located near the entrance of the passive park and the freestanding restrooms. The children’s splashpad will have a colorful, flat, rubberized surface with ground sprays that squirt up from the surface. The splashpad will also include above-ground interactive water play features; for example, a rainbow that allows the children to get wet as they run through it or spray cannons that allow the children to shoot water at one another.
Parking Lots: Two connected parking lots provide the community room with 61 parking spaces, and the golf and park amenities with 201 parking spaces. A total of 262 parking spaces will service the entire facility.
